Overview

Escape to simpler times with a stay in The Pheasantry, a quaint chocolate-box fairytale cottage on Mayen Estate in Scotland. With the children free to explore the gardens, free-range hens providing the eggs for breakfast and a view of the estate Walled Gardens from the bedroom window, The Pheasantry provides an idyllic highland retreat for all the family.

The Pheasantry at Mayen Estate has two bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, with especially comfortable beds decked in luxury linen. The family bathroom has a freestanding antique roll-top bath as well as a separate shower and underfloor heating. The cottage has a full kitchen and a very pretty, secluded, private garden with a barbeque and patio area. With wood-burning central heating from the stove in the open plan living area, this cosy cottage offers a traditional family holiday experience. Originally build as a Laundry for Mayen House and steeped in history, this unique, granite building has all the charm you could imagine from a rural Scottish cottage.

Mayen Estate is set in Northeast Scotland, in the stunning Deveron Valley. We have over 700 acres of grounds, woodland, and river to explore, as well as our walled garden and historic rock gardens. Low-impact holidays offer guests the perfect opportunity to retreat to nature, relax and embrace slow living, in a Historic Guardhouse, Designed Cabin or one of the traditional Highland Cottages.

There’s lots to see and do on Mayen Estate, they offer fishing, shooting, and hunting experiences for beginners. Find out more about our holiday experiences on the website.
