Overview
Doune Cottage is a privately owned holiday home in the small fishing village of Findhorn.
It is over 150 years old and a traditional stone walled, slate roofed, semi-detached cottage situated in a quiet lane in the heart of Findhorn village. Accessible on foot in a couple of minutes are two village shops, one of which has a post office and the other specializes in organic food and whole grain sourdough bread – baked on the premises. The bay is reachable in less than a minute on foot and the beach is also readily accessible either over the sand dunes or by road.
The cottage has been recently renovated and tastefully refurbished to a high standard and provides cosy and modern accommodation. There is a small garden opposite the cottage across the lane and a small garden and patio directly in front of the south-facing cottage with a table and seating area. A light and welcoming porch also provides a sheltered seating/storage area.
Due to its design, and situation the cottage is not suitable for children under the age of 7 and does not offer access to the disabled. Pets are not allowed as protection for future guests who might suffer from allergies.
It is possible to drive directly up to the cottage front door for loading and unloading purposes, but parking is on the street.
