The Tourism BID Business Plan as published, indicated that the new Tourism BID company board would consist of up to 12 levy-paying Directors, with an additional opportunity to co-opt a further three individuals on to the board should this be required making 15 the maximum number of ‘legal’ Directors.

A facilitated development day will be held on the 23rd March where a Chair will be elected and the final decision will be made by the group on the configuration of the legal board.

The Tourism BID needs everyone to be involved and help make the tourism BID a success, and so over the next few weeks the nominees will work together with the transitional directors to identify the most appropriate final shape and structure to ensure that your priorities are delivered and that as far as possible, all voices and views are represented within the limits of the maximum board size. This may result in a core ‘executive’ board of no more than 12, with a wider group supporting and advising them, made up of representatives from all sectors.

Should it be required following this meeting, a ballot of levy paying businesses will be held to select the legal directors of the company.

* Alastair Ross and Gill Reid are members of the Steering Group who brought the Tourism BID into being; both are current legal directors of the company as this was required during company set-up.
