– Part of TASTE OF SUMMER (1st June – 16th June 2024) –
Come and hear about the Logie Longhorn cows – the history of the
breed, why they are here, how we look after them, their individual quirks and lots more insights!
You can’t get much more local than the chef being able to see his produce grazing in the fields from his kitchen window, but that’s exactly the case at Logie Steading: Chef John can enjoy the view of the magnificent Longhorn cows, and also enjoy cooking and serving the fantastic Longhorn beef.
Available: Wednesday 12th of June, 11.15am
As part of the Visit Moray Speyside Taste of Summer fortnight, take a visit to Logie Estate where you will be greeted by Panny, part of the Laing family who own the estate, who will take you on a walk to see the pedigree heard of Longhorn Cattle.
You’ll learn why the farm fell in love with the quiet, well-tempered breed, what’s so special about them and how they are cared for.
You’ll see the majestic mature cows and their calves, and Valiant, the current stock bull; and some of the two year olds, all grazing in the fields.
The walk is free but we do ask that you reserve a spot by booking – and please wear suitable clothes for a walk!
