Join us for a full-day workshop where we will delve into the art of multi-block printing, creating beautifully layered images using separate blocks of colour. This course is perfect for beginners, and anyone interested in learning essential printmaking techniques. Although basic drawing skills are an advantage, they are not required. Please bring sketches, photographs, or other visual resources to use as a starting point in the first session. Each student will create prints based on their own ideas, resulting in a unique portfolio.
We will be printing without a press, providing you with foundational knowledge that you can apply to your art practice at home. This hands-on, practical session will equip you with a broad technical overview to kick-start your printmaking journey.
Throughout the workshop, we will cover design transfer, cutting techniques, ink preparation and mixing, and print registration. You will receive guidance and support as you explore these processes and develop your artistic skills. This is an opportunity to not only learn the basics but also to experiment with new techniques and create your own artwork.
