A week-long dynamic course full of chances to experiment, play, grow, develop and refine your skills and knowledge of painting!
The week will begin with a presentation about Georgia’s landscape painting, alongside works by other contemporary painters. Supported by group discussions and daily individual tutorials we will allow the process of painting to guide us produce an exciting body of work, and some finished paintings.
Working in Octopus Concertina Sketchbooks we will take inspiration from local landscapes, from memories and from other landscapes we have experienced. In the studio we will work on various surfaces (some raw, some primed, canvas, board, paper and card) responding to natural light and colour. We will use a range of conventional and unconventional painting tools and techniques, to find new ways to represent how landscapes, natural light and colour make us feel (water-based, oil-based and mono-printing painting processes will be introduced throughout the week).
