Jill Mackenzie is coming to Logie Steading for an art exhibition. Born in Keith in 1950, Jill followed a career in Catering Management after attending Robert Gordon’s University. However, art related projects were always on the horizon, and she began, in 2014, to fulfil her dream of painting full-time. She
Jill now lives near to where she grew up, working in her studio where she experiments with a range of different media. Her mixed media paintings begin with collage, and then many more layers of acrylic paint, inks, pen, and pastel are added to the work. Jill invites you to look closely to reveal the textures and many additions to the canvas.
The local area is the main inspiration for her work which has been exhibited in many of the Galleries in the North of Scotland.
