Lichens are intriguing organisms that can be found on every continent on earth.

Join local lichenologist Heather Paul for a day delving into magical world Lichens. During this fun and interactive workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn about what a lichen is, how they grow, what their place is in the ecosystem, how other animals (including humans) use them and then the basic identification of 10 common species to Logie Steading.

Depending on the weather, half the day will be spent inside and half outside looking at Lichens in and around Logie Steading.

What to Bring:

– Warm clothes for when we head outside

– Walking boots

– Waterproofs

– Notebook

– Lunch and snacks (though there is a fabulous cafe at Logie steading that you can get good food from too)
