Situated in The Square Room within the gallery we are delighted to welcome Caroline Simmill to exhibit.
Her work is is about her emotional response to the atmospheric weather conditions here in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The moors and coastlines feature heavily in her works.
Caroline works in both an indirect oil painting style where the painting is gradually built up using layers of opaque and transparent oil paint. She also uses a direct impasto palette knife painting technique.
