Moray Art Centre is proud to present A Piece of Sky, an exhibition by artist and tutor at MAC, Georgia Rose Murray!
A Piece of Sky is based on four research trips which Georgia has made to the far north of Iceland and to the Svalbard archipelago, specifically to witness the light, darkness, and incredible colours which change so drastically throughout all four seasons. Georgia paints outside whilst up in the Arctic, using mostly watercolour paint and home-made pigments in sketchbooks, on paper, cotton and silk. When she arrives back to her Scottish studio, she responds to all of the sketchbook work using Oil-based-paint and powdered pigments on wooden board.
There will be an artist talk at 11am on the 9th of November, where you will get to listen to Georgia talk about the work on display and the audience will be invited to ask any questions about her work and her time in the Arctic.
The private viewing is from 11:30am until 1:30pm – ALL WELCOME!
End date is to be confirmed!
Our gallery space is open from 10am – 4pm Friday – Sunday.
